Patience in Preparation
Have you ever questioned God’s purpose for you life? I know I have. God has asked me to do things, and I still haven’t seen much happen in the process. Let me just be real with you, I can be extremely impatient. When I step out and do something, I immediately want to see the purpose of it, and even the benefit. God doesn’t always work like that, even though it would be super cool if He did. Recently, God asked me to start a blog. I had no idea what would come of it, and honestly, I still don’t. But, I have trusted God completely and I made it. I launched it a month ago, and each time I work on it I thoroughly enjoy it. However, I know that it can be a very different situation, if a year from now, or even ten years from now I am working on the blog and nothing seems to be happening. I don’t always understand God’s calling, but what is so encouraging to know, is that I don’t have to immediately, because he does. God is never going to ask you to do something that isn’t good. It is out of his character. He wants us to do things that are going to bring him glory.
So, maybe you have been down for a while, thinking, something should have happened by now and it hasn’t. I want to remind you that God knows your heart right now and he is doing something even though you might not see it. I won’t sugar coat it and say what you are going through is easy, because it is not. Losing hope is something that all of us can slip into, this is where you have to remind yourself where your hope is. Your hope is not in a situation, it is in the Living God. Sometimes we don’t always know what God is doing, but we know he is doing something.
What has God asked you to do and you still are waiting to see something to happen? Waiting can be one of the hardest things to do, but I know that it is going to be more than worth it. I always hated the saying “good things come to those who wait” but it actually is so true. When I am waiting for something, and it actually happens, it is always so much better than anything I could have imagined on my own. God is preparing you right now. You are in preparation time. He has asked you to do something, and you are doing it, expecting him to act fast. God loves the process, because through it, he is teaching you something. I don’t know what that is, but I want to encourage you to lean in and ask God what he is doing in the waiting time.
Sometimes it feels like you are doing nothing, because nothing seems to be happening. Don’t count your work as nothing, just remind yourself that God is working through the process. You may just be in preparation time. It is so much better to have a strong foundation first, before you start living out your calling. If God gave you the treasure first, you might not be ready for it, or you might fail right away. He is preparing you, and giving you time to build your foundation on him. Your life has so much value, and I don’t want you to ever slip into believing you are doing nothing, or that you mean nothing. God has called you, so continue to walk in your calling.
God’s timing is so much better than ours, but I know I have a hard time with that. I want things now, when they could be out of season. God will provide at the right time. Don’t compare yourself to those around you, who appear to have it all figured out. They are not you. God is working in them, just as God is working in you; t is just different. So walk in your calling girl, God is going to show up BIG, you just have to be patient in the process.
