Your Reflection

“As water reflects the face, so the heart reflects the person.”

Proverbs 27:19

We are made in His image, and when we are reflecting on who He is, His light is in a constant place of return unto us. Giving space in our days to actively pursue the Lord reminds us that we can take refuge in Him.

This reflection looks like actively praying for the accomplishment of whatever is of God's will. At the same time, we reflect that of complete surrender to our Savior. Our defense is of God, we get to rely on that.

We know our Lord equips us. He is our wrap-around presence. He is already in action before us and so as we reflect on who He is, we press into the abundance that He is — we can see more clearly His reflection as we become more deeply connected with Him.

Our reflections lead us to the truth that with the Lord there is always a way. Daily reflection of who God is and living from Him sets our posture, grounds our position, and activates our pursuit. So what does it look like practically for us to daily reflect?

Set Your Posture

Setting our posture to reflect on who He is initiates dependency on Him.

This might look like a conversation with Him, having an open line of communication with Him that we always have access to. As we pray we become more connected to who He is, we become familiar to His steadfast presence.

When we set our posture to reflect who He is, we come to our Father with an open and grateful heart — we see that He is our constant in the midst of our variable. Setting our posture in Him shows us the weight that He bears for us.

Creating space to reflect on God daily grows in us where we lean on His understanding. This dependency that is initiated opens up a channel for us to receive all of who He is where He intends to constantly supply us. Reflecting on who He is sets our posture to depend on Him.

How can you set your posture to reflect who He is today?

Ground Your Position

Grounding our position to reflect on who He is, aligns us with His ways. This is us surrendering, yielding to our Redeemer. To reflect in this way, we trust Him with everything — meaning we get to embrace our position because we know that He has a plan in motion that He has already gone before us.

Here we begin to see what it looks like to live as a reflection of the Lord as we reflect on His ways. When our position is grounded to reflect on who He is, we stop focusing on us; We look to Him and His ways. We are grounded in a foundation that will never shift. We stand to inherit the Kingdom.

Reflecting on who He is grounds our position to be in alignment with His ways.

Activate Your Pursuit

Activating our pursuit to reflect on who He is leads us to seek the Source.

We are inundated with information on a daily basis, we take so much in that it is so easy for us to be distracted at all times. Yet, when we activate a pursuit of Christ to reflect on the One who made us in His image, we get to experience His presence that is always there. When we are in pursuit of Him, we are more aware of Him.

We show up, ready to engage with Him because we know He never changes, He is who He says He is. We have access to the One who made us in His image, every second of every day. This stirs in us a desire to want to experience His presence over everything else.

Reflecting on who He is, activates our pursuit to seek the only true Source.

How can you activate your pursuit of reflecting on who He is today?

Daily reflection of who God is, reminds us that we get to live in who He says we are. As we position ourselves in a posture ready to receive the ways the Lord has set forth, we show up with expectancy. We get to live in victory because He paid the ultimate price. We get to live in the light of eternity, He is our hope to cling to. As we reflect, His glory is made known for us to see all circumstances as the substance that provides an eternal, weighty glory, beyond anything we could ever compare it to.

Just as the water reflects the face, our heart reflects the person — and because He is alive in us, we are called to reflect Him. I want to challenge you today to reflect on who He is: what does it look like when you set your posture, ground your position, and activate your pursuit in Christ?
